Erin and Elaine, Owners

Hey!  We’re the mother and daughter team behind the business.  We started on this crazy journey in 2013, and have had the best time since then, helping couples design and plan their weddings.  By our powers combined…(extra points if you get that reference) we help take your vision and make it a reality- and have a lot of fun doing it!

We have absolutely fallen in love with the wedding and event industry and make it our goal to make sure that our couples have an event that reflects their personality in a meaningful way.

When you hire us for your wedding, we are with you every step of the way.  From first email to delivery.

We don’t have a giant team of corporate drones.  We have a small team of individuals who are each passionate about our clients and their experience.  Our goal is to help add magic to our clients’ events and make the entire process as easy as possible with a dash of fun!

Meet the team

Hi! I’m Elaine, the mother half of the mother/daughter team that owns Power of Love Rentals. I’ve always been involved with Erin’s activities, from being a room mom and PTA officer in elementary school, to being a dance mom in high school. We planned her wedding together, and had a great time doing it. It seemed only natural that when it was time to “do something” with everything from her wedding, that we would start our business together.

When we first started, I was working full time at my 9 - 5 job. It wasn’t long before our wedding business began taking more and more of my time. In May of 2016 I finally bit the bullet and retired. As our business grew I was able to devote more time to it without my “real” job getting in the way.

I absolutely love what we’re doing! We have met some of the most amazing couples, some of whom have become great friends. There’s nothing like the feeling of having a couple tell us that their wedding day was the best day ever, and knowing we played a big part in that day. More than one couple has told us we’re like their fairy godmothers. We make dreams come true!

Tip for couples: Create a separate email specifically for your wedding planning. That way, it’s easier to keep track of everything.

Favorites:

Rental piece: Our specialty glass goblets in all the colors of the rainbow

Meal/food: Thai food

Dessert: Anything lemon

Drink: Water, mainly ‘cause I have to drink it.

Hey! I’m Erin, the daughter half of the owner team. I have 3 kids and love hanging out with my husband, the kids, the dogs and working on house projects. I was born and raised in Portland, got my degree in technical and performance theatre and worked retail merchandising for 15 years. After planning my wedding, I got hit by the “wedding bug”. When my middle son was born, I quit my retail job and jumped into the business with both feet and haven’t looked back since.

My absolute passion is design. I take every class that I can, read all the books, and play with all the inspiration boards. I love to work with people to help them bring their dreams from their heads to paper to reality. When the little details all come together on the big day to create magic, that’s my jam.

Tip for couples: Do what matters to you. Don’t want favors? Don’t do them. Want to do something that you’ve never seen before at a wedding? Go for it! It’s your day. It should reflect you.

Favorites:

Rental piece: Our assorted brass vases in all different styles

Dessert: Fresh berries, whipped cream and angel food cake

Drink: tea or a pear sidecar from McMenamins if we’re talking alcohol

How’d we get our name?

When my oldest son, Austen, was five, he drew an amazing picture of a superhero flying over a city.  Along the top, he wrote "All of you have magic with the powers of I Love You".

My mom and I struggled with trying to come up with a name that wasn't too cheesy or run of the mill. We also wanted a name that meant something to our family, as we're a family run business. I kept coming back to Austen's picture and what he scrawled along the top. And it's so true. With love, all things are possible.

And that’s how our name came about.
